Although Australia is pretty isolated from the rest of the world, one of the benefits of living on Australia’s East Coast is that you can easily fly to places like Bali for cheaper than the cost of flying to the other side of Australia. It was almost as if the stars had aligned during the week of my 20th birthday in March 2016, with Jet Star offering ridiculously cheap flights to Bali, so I knew that even though I was in the middle of my university semester, I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to spend my birthday in Bali. Although my friend and I were only able to spend a long weekend on the ‘Island of Gods,’ we managed to get the most out of our 4 days thanks to a bit of research and some careful planning.
There’s a lot to love about Bali, including gorgeous beaches, cheap markets, great affordable food, and picturesque landscapes. We made the most of our 4 days in Bali, by visiting Pecatu, Uluwatu, Kuta, Lembongan, and Ubud.
