In July 2015 myself and two work friends decided to spend a week on a P&O cruise to the Pacific Islands, stopping in Noumea and Mare in New Caledonia, and Port Vila in Vanuatu.
Our first docking of the ship was for an afternoon in Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia. We skipped the shore tours in this port, and to save money we found a map and decided to catch a local bus to the top of the cliff for a nice view of the town. On our second day we docked in Mare, and we booked a bus ticket to the beach, which we enjoyed for the morning before going off and exploring on our own. We managed to find a secluded beach area and took the opportunity to get nude, go for a swim, and snap a cute picture!
We stopped in Vanuatu’s capital Port Vila for a full day of exploring before heading back to Brisbane. Stay tuned as I’m currently working on a travel guide for a DIY Port Vila day tour!
